Khramtsova graduated early from UIC. Ekaterina Khramtsova, a biology and anthropology double major who received a prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, pushes herself to even loftier goals as she begins her graduate work on molecular pathogenesis and molecular medicine.
Veilleux is one of eight graduate students nationally to win the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award. Jennifer Veilleux, a graduate student in psychology, earned the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award from the Association of American Colleges and Universities, after being inspired to explore her love of teaching by her professors at UIC.

Smith will conduct ten months of research on the Ata tribe of the Philippines. The recipient of a $32,000 American Council of Learned Societies Dissertation Research Fellowship, Larissa Smith searches for ethno-archaeological clues as she examines how the livelihood of the Ata people of the Philippines has changed over time.

The full-year scholarship provides Luna with round-trip transportation, a living stipend and program-related travel costs in Germany. Adolfo Luna, a recent graduate who double majored in Germanic studies and biology, won a coveted Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals scholarship to work and study for a year in Germany.
