Jun 18, 2018

The New York Times interviews Jane Rhodes, UIC professor and head of African American studies, in a profile of the late Mary Ann Shadd Cary, who was a writer, educator, lawyer, abolitionist and the first black woman in North America to edit and publish a newspaper.
