of the American Sociological Association
(ASA). Founded in 1905, the ASA is the national organization for sociologists with a membership of over 13,000. Its aims are to "articulate policy and implement programs likely to have the broadest possible impact for sociology now and in the future." The term for vice-president runs for one year, starting in August 2015.
