This is an unrestricted fund providing support for the academic mission of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Your gift to this fund will be used in a variety of areas including new programs and initiatives; student scholarships; research awards and enhanced internship opportunities for undergraduate students; graduate fellowships; faculty research; and special events designed to broaden the educational experiences of our students.

UIC Frank Tachau Memorial Fund

The Frank Tachau Memorial Fund for Comparative Middle East and Turkish Studies.  This fund will be used to support faculty and students doing Middle East and Turkish research within the department of Political Science.   The fund will also be used to host an annual speaker series on comparative politics and society with a special focus on the Middle East in general and Turkey specifically.

Peter Knauss Memorial Fund in Political Science

The Peter Knauss Memorial fund was established by faculty members and friends of Political Science to support Political Science programming.

Michael B. Arrington Mock Trial Fund

The Michael B. Arrington Mock Trial Fund shall be used to support the UIC Mock Trial Program in the Department of Political Science of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Ron Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Ron Brown Memorial Endowment Fund shall be used to provide awards to benefit students majoring in Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Recipients shall be enrolled in good academic standing and shall demonstrate a minimum grade point average of 3.0.  These awards have been used to support the Best Graduating Senior awards.

Twiley Barker Memorial Fellowship Fund

The Twiley Barker Memorial Fund shall be used to provide awards to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies and programs in constitutional law and ethics in the Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Doris A. Graber Endowed Graduate Fellowship

The Doris A. Graber Endowed Graduate Fellowship shall be used to provide fellowships to graduate students in the Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences of the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Preference shall be given to female candidates with family responsibilities, primarily child-rearing responsibilities, as well as to students who are within the upper twenty-five percent (25%) of the pool of incoming or current graduate students.

John Echols Memorial Award

The UIC John Echols Memorial Award is intended to be used for the best paper by a UIC political science student on a public policy analysis or comparative politics topic.  A faculty paper will select the winning paper from among papers nominated by members of the faculty in the Department of Political Science.  Funds may also be used to finance lectures and other projects both honoring John Echols and adding to the strength of the Department.

Milton Rakove Memorial Fund

The UIC Milton Rakove Memorial Fund shall be used to provide scholarships to students enrolled in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago on the basis of demonstrated academic merit.    These funds are additionally used to support superior writing and research on topics of international relations and urban politics to honor Milton Rakove and add to the strength of the Department.
